"And you, forgotten, your memories ravaged by all the consternations of two hemispheres..." Manchester, 23rd March 2004. The old and the new descended upon The Ritz to pay tribute to one Robert Leo Gretton, the late Joy Division / New Order manager, co-founder of Factory Records, reluctant Hacienda business partner, and a man with whom the word 'mercurial' was inextricably linked. The assembled glitterati formed a who's who (or 'who the fuck are you') of Manchester past & present, as if the council had organised a Manchester Passion-style re-enactment of 24 Hour Party People. A wild party with an atmosphere you could bottle and call a vintage.
This exclusive release is taken from A Certain Ratio's blinding live set
that night, and is available from Monday 22nd of May via the iTunes Music Store only - almost two years
to the day that the event took place.
The nine track album features tracks from throughout the
band's career, from Shack Up right through to Won't Stop Loving You, and also includes a cover
of Joy Division's Heart& Soul featuring Peter Hook on bass.
